Truckee California

Truckee California is one of the Sierra’s most diverse and complete year-round communities. It is home to much of the Tahoe area workforce, an outstanding regional hospital, and great small businesses, artists, and outdoor fanatics of all ages. Truckee is a place rich in history with a quaint downtown that hosts charming shops and superb restaurants set in authentic historic buildings. Recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Truckee proudly retains its historic roots. Named for a Paiute Indian chief who helped guide thousands of emigrants in their westward journey through 40-mile desert. Truckee historically is well known for its logging, ice manufacturing, the Emigrant Trail, as well as for the tragic expedition of the Donner Party.

Consistently voted one of America’s “Best Adventure Towns” Truckee California offers access to an amazing array of outdoor activities. Truckee boosts over 600 miles of single-track and paved trail within its city limits. This includes miles of national forest access, state park lands and conservation easements in an idyllic sierra mountain town setting.
